In the paper the current state of study by Ukrainian historians of the problem of political repression against the protestant denominations in the Soviet Ukraine in the 1920’s and 1930’s is analyzed. The proposed article is based on such fundamental principles of historical research as scientific objectivity and historicism. Source base: monographs, dissertations, scientific articles, proceedings of the conferences, scientific and documentary book series “Rehabilitated by History”. Results of research are structured in a problem and chronological order. The main aim of the article is to analyze the main historiographical approaches to the studying of a given problem, the degree of its scientific development, as well as the prospects for further investigation of the repressive policy of the Soviet state against the protestant denominations in the Soviet Ukraine in the 1920’s and 1930’s. It is established that the following aspects are in the center of attention of the domestic scientists: Soviet Religious policy in interbellum; role of party-state machinery and special services in Church Protestant organization destruction in Ukraine; the regional aspect of repressions  regarding the protestant denominations in interbellum. Historians focused on analyzing the stages, causes, forms, scale, consequences of implementing the repressive policy of the Soviet state regarding the protestant denominations of the Ukrainian SSR in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The scientific novelty is in the creation of an integral picture of the historiography of the repressive policy of the Communist-Soviet regime regarding the protestant denominations of the Soviet Ukraine in the 1920’s and 1930’s. The article, based on the scientific achievements of domestic historians, devoted to this problem, shows that in the late 1920’s – early 1930’s the Communist-Soviet regime changed measures in the struggle against Protestants and started a large-scale repressive campaign regarding the protestant denominations. As for Protestants priests, their total number was reduced to 90% for 20 years of Soviet power. [/restab]
